Pagan Occult Distribution Network (PodsNet) Book of Shadows
"Riders of the Crystal Wind" has been misrepresented on the Internet for years as a "coven's personal Book of Shadows." These books (there are seven in all) are, in fact, a collection of rituals, spells, recipes, messages, and essays from and among members of the old Pagan Occult Distribution Network (PodsNet). PodsNet was an Internationally-based Message/Filesbbs network, comprised of individual BBS systems across the world. While a case could be made, I guess, that we core Podsters were as much a family as any grove or coven, I hardly think that's what the webmasters of the above referenced pages meant.
PodsNet users came from various religious paths, from Asatru to Zen Buddhist, and their contributions as well as topical messages were compiled two to three times a year into a tome that became known to us as the PodsNet BOS. As former Sysop of Tapestry BBS and former Midwest Regional Coordinator for PodsNet, I can attest that most of the information contained in these seven books is not only priceless, but offers the discerning reader a historical overview of the changes in mindset, traditions, and attitudes over the last nearly ten years.
The following links allow for the downloading of the files comprising the PodsNet Book of Shadows. They are not formatted for HTML viewing at this time, but are zipped ASCII text versions. At some point in the future, I hope to make them available on this website in a searchable database format.
