An Invocation/Devocation to the Goddess
Invocation
We gather this evening in the presence of the Ancients -
Without malice, without jealousy, without envy.
Naked in our emotions,
Needing communion of kindred and oneness with thee.
We invoke Thee, O Bright Light of Life,
And ask your blessing upon our works this night
That the old season of death and deprivation
Might finally be set aside
And the Wheel of Life joyfully turned
to a new season of rebirth and renewal.

Devocation
We thank thee for thy presence this evening
And ask you turn away dark winter's face
Bring to us the youthfulness of Maiden,
Be light of Spirit, soft of step, and kind in word.
Kindle within the hearts of Man
A flame of love for our neighbors,
Our foes, our friends;
To everyone on this broad earth,
O merciful Lady,
From the lowliest thing that liveth
To the Name which is highest of all.
Be a bright flame before us,
A guiding star above us,
A smooth path beneath us
And a calming presence all around us.
